All four wheels on the ground, Lanos towing question.

Post by Spider »

Engine died and car was towed for five miles. The driveshafts were not disconected.
It's a 2000 Lanos and it has the 4T40E automatic.
While being towed the car was kept in neutral and never exceeded 10 mph.

I don't know if Daewoo recommends this but "U-Haul" (truck/trailer rental company) say's its ok.

I know these are good transmissions. Can they take this type of towing ? I will soon be dropping in a new/used engine in this car.
I hope the old transmission (which was working just fine before the engine died) is ok.

Any thoughts or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

again, thanks (in advance)

EDIT:
Engine transplant finished and the transmission is doing its job.
It's true, the 4T40E is bullet-proof !
