always launch at 3500 rpm , wear out clutch faster?

Dear folks,
One of my friend like to launch his car in such a manner, first he pull the handbrake, then he depressed the clutch, then at the same time he gradually make the rpm raise to 3000~3500 and maintain it. After that he release the clutch fully with the hand brake still on and rpm maintain at 3000~3500. The car is treated in such a manner for about 2 seconds before the handbrake is release and launch.


I tried his launching method many times on my lanos, now i'm very very worry that i might spoil my clutch and burn my pocket again.

some questions here hope u guys can answer me , if i 'm able to make my car wheel spin during launching(not using above method) does it mean my clutch is still in a healthly state?
Any of u guy here clock more than 200k miles on the stock clutch?

Ok, that is completely unnecessary. Instead of using the handbrake, why not just rev it to that desired range and just drop the clutch? Same difference except your not messing up your rear drums.

Also, if you dump the clutch, you do wear it out more than usual. Just by using the clutch normally you wear it out to a some degree. I'm at 89k with a stock clutch and have launched my car at 4k rpms many times (of course no handbrake used). I can understand an automatic car doing that, but not a manual... that's just ridiculous.

Your stock clutch is 89k mile which is a good news to me , my clutch is currently 60k miles.
any one of u have clock more than 150k miles with their stock daewoo clutch?

You would do that if you're on the 1/4 drag strip so your car doesn't roll forward before the light turns green.

that kinda launch with no good reason is simply asking for trouble and it will affect the car's durability.

I just got 130,000 miles out of my clutch with millions of high rev launches on it!! No tach in my car, just rev on the yellow light.........Green light dump it! Good thing about my car is its not real powerful so my launches are great but after that it sux!!
