Hi, is there any way that the lanos ignition can be altered so that the key can come out whilst in the ON position?
Thanks

There are some alarm systems that will allow the engine to remain running for a designated length of time, such as 1, 2, 5, 10 or a user selectable number of minutes after the key is removed, although this can only happen if the car is in park (automatic) or if the parking brake (manual) is used.
If you need the key just to open the back hatch & leave the engine running, then get either a 2nd key made which you can keep on a quick release connecter on your keyring, or you can get a electric remote hatch opener that you can press a button to pop the hatch open from inside the car.
It is listed for $9.99 + shipping here:

Acutally modifying the ignition lock & switch would be a bad idea because it would make the car easy to steal.
