i am intrested indeed but due to the fact that i live accross the pond i am better off going with the OPEL parts swap rather than seeking an american car... my only concern was premature rear lockup and you have confirmed that it is not an issue so it is time to look arround in our used car parts shops.

i am interested also. but isnt the proportioning valve a seperat part from the master cylinder? if it is than you will need a new one, you can get adjustable ones so you can fine tune it how you want it. after my fiance gets a new job ill definatly look into this, but i dont have the extra cash now since its only my income here for the time

a proportioning valve is something that you woud have to add if you wanted one. that's an aftermarket performance thing. all proportioning is done in the master. if you want to look at the ABS unit as a propotioning, that's kindof how it works.
if you'd like i also have the master and ABS unit from a Nubi and i could send that with the caliper mounts if you're interested.

you can remove the proportional valves from the master indeed so you can play with them all you want... beeing a safty issue i recommend against it though.

THE CONVERSION!
these 'prototype' brackets have a bit of surface rest from the water jet but the ones i send out go to media blast and get a high stength coating for rust proof and long life.
gse_turbo wrote:so here it is and it's not from an opel. ALL these parts are found in the U.S. and should be in Canada. what i'm building off of is a rear disc setup from a '93 saturn L Series.
the upsides of this conversion is:
•you keep 4x100 bolt pattern
•you don't need to order repacement parts from Europe
•there are rotor upgrades in thye US
•you keep your factory track width
•it's vertually a dirrect fit
•parts are cheep
•sealed whell bearing w/ seperate rotor, no repacking bearing with a brake service
•hand brake in caliper, no "shoe in hat design" like the nudira
but for all the upsides, and some i've forgoten, there is one down side, you will need to adjust you bolt hole a little but i'll go over that.
Here's what you get in my kit. keep in mind what you will get is a shotpeened and coated version, these are prototypes.
Here's what you need to add to the setup, (8) 10mmx50mmx1.25 bolts and lock washers to mount everything using factory nuts as a last step, (4) 3/8x2'' bolts and nuts for moch-up and all the brake components.
You will also have to add all the brake components that you want, rotors, calipers,...
Here's were the 'moch-up' comes in, if you're going to paint the rear beam then do so first.
Using the 3/8 bolts, mount everything and get it tight. everything should mount flush but these bolts wont be sitting straight, these are just for alignment. the holes are off just slightly, this is when you need to adjust the mounting holes.
Use a 13/32 drill bit remove a little material from both the bearing flange and mounting surface until the drill sits staight. do this one by one replacing the 3/8 bolts with the 10mm bolts as you go.
This will keep the caliper mount and the wheel bearing mounted perfect.
After that your done, you can mount everything else up.
If you've waited as long as i have for all wheel disc brakes or price a setup out of from euro parts then you'll think this is a beautiful thing.
hopefully someone out there enjoys this!
