I know the Lanos and Nubira utilize the 4T40E worldwide, very common GM transmission. I'm pretty sure the Leganza doesn't. The pans were totally different.

there are somethng like 3 different versions of the 4t40e, one has like a 12 bolt pan and the other has something like a 14, or 16 bolt pan. but i could be wrong.

I think you're right. There's a tranny called a 4t45e but I was told it's just a tougher version of the 4t40e? Maybe thats the 14 or 16 bolt one? I know that b&m said the shift improver for the 4t45e would also work with the 4t40e so there can't be too much difference right.
