I don't know why you would want the part number for the old 4 speed.... I'm pretty sure it's incapable of handling any significant amount of power.

The sunbird's typcially came with an Isuzu 5spd but the turbo models ( Sunbird GT ) were a Getrag-Munci HM282

A common upgrade from the 282 (which is a decent tranny) is the HM283 found on the Bonnyville SSE ( 3.8L supercharged model )

I don't know if the 283 has the exact same pattern but I know there was atleast one guy... and possibly it might have been two that used this with their 2.0L turbo.

i'm looking for the gearing on the 4-speed cause if the final gear is the same as the F16 or F20 then i'd like to use the longer gears.

Dear Garrett,

at GETRAG we only produce(d) the transmissions F28 & F23 for GM (Opel).
The F40 transmission is produced by GM Powertrain, Ruesselsheim itself, so that we don't have interface data of this transmission.

For furhter information I would propose to contact GM directly.

Best regards
