Quaife UK products in the USA
I just found out that Quaife UK sends Quaife USA components bi-monthly so we should be able to get upgrade components for our Getrag transmissions.
I sent them off an email about pricing and availability so they should get back to me next week some time.
The main thing I was asking about was the Gear Lever Assembly ( gear shifter in car) since it is not only made out of metal, it's designed for racing so it has a very short throw and very solid feel.
I'm hoping that they are fully compatible with our gear linkage as I want to throw that plastic piece of crap in the garbage.
I also asked for specifications with regards to power handling for those of us who are upgrading our cars with 2.0L turbos.
The other nice thing will be the availability of Quaife ATB limited slip differentials.

Ok guys..... the good news is everything on the Quaife UK site is available through Quaife USA.
The bad news is that everything is expensive, but then Quaife is a name that is associated with quality and performance.
ATB differential.............................$1,145.00 USD.
Turret Assembly............................$1,295.00 USD
HD Operating Finger.......................$395.00 USD
Gear Lever Assembly......................$895.00 USD
F16/F20 5-spd. dogged gearkit..........$5,495.00 USD
F16/F20 6-spd. dogged gearkit...........$7,295.00 USD
I told them the most likely item to be purchased is the ATB differential for any of us that would have enough power to require it.
( for those who don't know what an ATB Diff is, it's a mechanical plate style limited slip differencial that transfers torque from tire to tire)
Basicly if you step on a high horsepower car a single tire spins while the other does nothing. With a Quaife ATB the torque is split between the tires and both with grab and go or spin.
The result is a massive improvement in 0-60mph times and 1/4 mile times.

The prices are expensive but what can you expect from Quaife.
Just remember that those gearkits are meant for serious racing so I imagine they are pretty damned tough.
I was figuring around $1000 for the ATB Differential but the only thing I was really disapointed in was the price of the gear lever assembly.
For $900 USD I think I will live with my vague plastic junk box of a gear shifter.
They also told me it most likely would not hook up to the standard linkage and that I would have to make my own to make it work. (which isn't a problem but the price is just too much)

Quaife has the limited slip differencial for the F28 but it's not cheap.... and that doesn't include the 4WD to FWD conversion kit.
I thought about the F28 quite a bit and I just don't think it's worth the extra money an pain to make it fit.
The F20 is a simple bolt in.... you just need to change a couple of things like the clutch actuation system (Cable vs Hydraulic)

There are gear sets available for major $$$$ and a limited slip differencial.
I looked at converting my car to AWD as well but to be honest..... it would require major custom fabrication.
I looked at a few options and the cheapest is to drop in a second engine in the back of the car!!!
Yes... I know this sounds funny but it would be easier than an AWD conversion in my opinion and it would have more power.

Well i'm not worried about awd. I do however want a strong 6-spd. Obviously an LSD.
If i got the F20 Strengthened, and got and LSD(including the Next gear) how much am I looking at?

Knight... the 6 speed is the F28... already has an LSD...
the F20 is a 5 speed... no LSD
the ABT LSD is far better than the stock LSD on the F28... but is more oriented for racing use... of course you can use it for everyday driving...

well i figure i'll want a stage3-4 Clutch, and Erfinder said quiafe can add gears i'd like a 6-spd. but i'll take a 5-spd if need be. Plus He also said they offer the LSD for the F20. I believe.
Damn *edit* I didn't see the prices already, What does it mean dogged?
If i do that engine swap, What will i be needing from this F20 Transmission, i can stick with a 5-spd no biggy. I mean i'll be used to a 5-spd. (Getting one soon!). Whats Dogged? and on top of that, I'll be needing an LSD, anything else?
