I just bought a 2001 Lanos sport and it didn't have a remote key fob. I bought one on ebay and now I need to reprogram it for my car. How do I go about doing this? (please don't tell me a dealer has to do it)
Thanks!
How do you program a keyless transmitter for Lanos?

Odds are that your car didn't come with a keyless receiver to be able to unlock the doors without keys. It is probably just a model with power door looks. You can check if you have this by taking off the rear part of the center console...the part around the handbrake. If there is a black box with an antenna mounted underneath there, then your good. If there is nothing there, relist the key fob on eBay.
And yes, if you do have keyless entry, you will need to go to the dealer to reprogramm it.
Your best bet is to go to Circuit City or Best Buy and purchase a full kit.
I know this because my 1999 Lanos SX has both key fobs and the receiver, and my 2001 Lanos Sport doesn't have the receiver, only the power door locks.

I'll check that. I was hoping that it would be something simple like turn on the key to accessory 3 times and push the button.
I've called Chevy dealers and import repair and they didn't have a clue! Obviously there are no Daewoo dealers here in MN. Oh well, I'll try CirCity/BestBuy...I don't want to shell out $350 for a remote
If any one has any other suggestions, I'm all ears.
Thanks!
