4T40-E vent hose Q.

Post by Spider »

Hey auto tranny folks,

I have a question regarding the vent hose that is on the transmission fill cap.
.
Is there little filter or something that is supposed to go on the end of that tube?
Mine is open and the hose is about 2 feet long, just tucked behind the break lines.
I'm thinking dirt/dust can enter the tube ?

Thanks in advance,

:)

+1

I had the same question and even in the manual it says it's just a vent tube and is left open.

Thanks for the quick response guys !!!

This was the first time I had looked at it closely, and figured maybe I lost something off it when I did the engine swap.
I moved the end up higher now, along the firewall, thinking to keep it out of the "dust stream"

Again, THANKS !
