I have read some of the other posts about Leganza and am wondering if it is the same?
What needs replaced besides the timing belt? And when it goes does it always mean that it messes up the top end of the engine?
Also are there any diagrams for the 2000 Nubira or guides as to how to go about this.
thanks so much

It doesn't always mess up the valves and such but it does mess them up 90% of the time. Cause usually when it snaps the pistons keep moving and the valves stop with some stuck open which then get hit by the pistons. Sometimes the valves don't get bent but it is rare. If you do need valves your best bet is to go to a machine shop and get the head professionally rebuilt then install a new timing belt/waterpump/tensioners when you reinstall the head.

Don't think he just meant a woo, was more of a general statement. I've heard of cars snapping timing belts and not bending valves. Actually, my car was out 5 teeth on the timing and it didnt harm the engine at all, surprisingly. It just retarded the rpm, wouldn't go past 4000 rpm, but once we found out thats what was causing the problem, and once i i gathered my jaw from the floor, my friend put the timin belt back on in the correct position and it was 100% again. Still havent figured out how it jumped 5 teeth as we can never recall the belt being taken off.
