Did you block off where the resonator attached too?

And resonators, as far as i know, are somewhat of a buffer. They fill with air and the car can take it from there if there's not much else to take it from, like at lower rpm or if you hit a puddle. [I think, really not sure on this]

THere is a nice grunt when you take them off though, isnt there? ^^

there was this flexible fabric hose attached to the resonator that went up into the guard that wasn't even mentioned in MMamdouh's How to guide.
It was attached up the top of the guard and wouldn't come off the resonator, so in a moment of frustration i gave it a yank and it popped out.
Much to my surprise it had a nice bellmouth on one end, so i pry'd it off the resonator and stuck it on the inlet for the airbox.

That spot has vents at the bottom so i'm guessing air is getting sucked out, especially at speed, therefore creating a negative pressure zone and my car losing power...
but, that is just a guess with my basic knowledge of fluid/gas dynamics

is that 1000 peak or RMS lol?
1000 peak, no idea what the rms wattage is.

they started squeeking and crunching/crackling today, so i took em out and hooked em up to my computer's audio amp and the sound from them was completely muffled and rough. time for new ones ;)

If you're gonna pay that much, you might as well look at gse_turbo [garrett's] stud conversion kit.

The problem is that I would end up paying more than the product on shipping.
I actually thought bout converting them but I can't find any suppliers of the bolts in australia :(

on the topic of buying stuff u dont need...

almost as bad as me setting out to buy a single 8" subwoofer and somehow ending up with 2 more 12" woofers. lol

i did buy an 8" woofer aswell 2 days later.

so what is one to do with 3 12" woofers and a 8" ?

until i know that, im making a MDF parcel shelf to hold the 2 new subs, so the boot acts as the box (this is proven to work, providing that the boot is sealed from the passenger compartment, which it will be.)

6x9s are pretty much dead after being abused by the 1000w amp. one produces no more than a rattle and crunch, the other works, but silently.
