reverse shift engage noisy

try shifting into first, then reverse if you think its guna grind. and also, try double dumping the clutch, and holding it fully to the floor. i get it every so often, but i just somehow know how to stop it from grinding now.

ps, my 1.4 w reg with 70k didnt do it at all (it had a new gearbox after 3 weeks underwarrenty)

yeah right... solve the revers problem and on the other hand lose 5th gear, make your car slower in 0-60MPH, lose top speed and above all lose the fun of upshift, downshift (and sometime miss-shift)?? no thank you i prefer to grind revese gear all day long :twisted:

Actually in my case I lost BOTH 5th and 4th gears (3spd) but you don't hear me complaining!

I have the same problem most of the time too...

All i do is put it in neutral, then step on and release the clutch a few times.
Works fine after that...
