1.5 egr valve gone?

i have 2001 daewoo lanos sport 1.5 and the engine light has been on and i put code reader on it and it said the erg sensor was gone and i phoned daewoo mechanics and they said it would be egr valve is gone cause they are together the egr valve and sensor my car is very hard to start when cold it wont stay on idle have to baby the throttle so stay running my gas milage is only 21 mpg until i get this fixed what else could be causing the bad fuel milage??? i put all new plugs in the gas lines all new, new gas filter ran stabilizer threw all lines.... i run on highway average of 120 130 that doesnt help but still shouldnt be gettin 21 mpg's.... the egr valve and speeds shouldnt drop 20 mpgs? car is mechanically sound besides valve take very good care of it and mantaince it regulary what could be causeing this bad gas milage??????

IDK about the laws on your side of the world but if it was me i'd bypass the EGR and call it a day.

If you have a EEGR valve then it's drived by a relay in the engine fuse box. Try to swap this relay by another one. And check for bad connector contact.

real noob here. I have a 99 cielo 1.5 gle manual tran which i got 2nd hand with no service manual, so it will be a great help if you can point me to where this egr valve is please.

Put a nice sharp clear pic of your engine bay. I guess you don't have EGR valve. Happy man
