and again with the problems

Post by sheepdizildawg »

well me and a friend were hungry, went up to the BK in town, car has been running very well lately, but i was just pulling into the parking lot and lost a lot of engine power and then it stalled, not breaks not steering, got it stopped, now my problem is when i start the engine it shakes a lot and i think there is smoke coming from under the intake manifold? i would say head gasket but not smoke in the tail pipe, and the smoke in the hood isn't a lot, just a faint smoking. i got it home thank god unlike the last two times. anyone know what i could be lookin for?? replaced the coil pack and it made no difference.

Hmmm.... that doesn't sound good.

Have you removed the spark plugs and looked at them?

They should be a nice light brown color.... and they should be dry.

If you have one that is black and wet then that is the cylinder that is not firing and causing the misfire / shaking.

You should check the compression of each cylinder.

That is to say you may find one cylinder that has very little compression.... which could mean any number of things.

It's too bad you guys are a billion miles away.... or I'd help you out in person.

If we are talking Washington state.... then yes... I can help out..... I may even be there sometime in the next month as I'm thinking about going on a small holiday to the coast ( have family in both Victoria, BC and Redmond, WA )
