low compression

so before i pulled the head off my 1.6 it has low compression in 2 of the cyl. i had figured that it was damaged from when i drove the car after turbocharging it with out a tune

now that i pulled the head off and ive inspected the pistons and head and dont see any signs of why there would be low compression. the head gasket is a MLS style and doesnt seem to be damaged or anything.

im at a loss. any ideas?

does the valves leak??... pour some gas in the intake and exhaust ports and see if gas leaks through the valve seats

im thinking its the rings. even if i cant see damage, they still could be. so ill give that a shot and see what happens
