Serious help needed here...

Ok, heres my problem. I had a flat on the driver's side front end of my lanos the other day. I put the spare on, drove it to Discount Tire. They fixed the flat and went to put my normal wheel on, well they came out and told me that one of my lugs would not screw in, that the hole it screws into is stripped.

They said it should be fine to drive as long as I make sure the lugs are tight each time I get in it. My problem is, I definately don't feel safe driving it right now. I don't have any clue what part I'm supposed to ask for when I call around to find a replacement. Would it be cheaper to replace the whole thing or to get the hole re-threaded?

I'm not all that great in that area but call a Daewoo dealership and ask. Where are you located? If you want prices call 1-253-286-6000 and ask for them to connect you to the daewoo dealership. That number is for the Toyota dealership that owns and still does work on the Daewoos. they are all nice and will help you. Their will probably be a dealer located in your area even though they still don't sell Daewoos.

If it is possible, you could rethread the hole.
Did it with my wife's GrandAm for spark plugs.

I hope I can get it re-threaded because I'm getting my custom kit put on in a couple weeks

Getting the 96-98 Civic Buddy Club kit, parts, modification, install and paint for ~$900. Add $250 to that since I'm getting a set of projectors for the 96-98 Civic and having the bodyshop custom install them as well.

Well took my lanos down to Firestone, they told me they have to charge me half-hours labor to fix this, $55 to tap out one hole.

Seems like highway robbery to me, going out to price a tap myself for the right size lug and borrowing a friends airdrill to do it with.
