Post by JoeSeabee »

do you pro's think this will fit with little to no mods?

how about this one ... inexpensive but effective

well to tell you the truth i woudnt buy any brand i have never heard of.. most of them have very thin fins and will bend just from the slightest thing

i got a turbo XS intercooler for about 150$ and its made extremly well and the fins are nice and thick and will not bend unless forced to bend

Myself and Rage_Man both got the intercoolers from same place (ssautochrome on eBay), and we are both very pleased :) I believe its actually same 'brand' as XS.

as far as sizes go what do you have?

looks like 25x5x2 is the max without shaving the backside of the bumper

I usually used XSpower/ssautochrom intercoolers on set-ups. The old one on my sunbird was an xs power unit you can see here:

Here are a couple installed pictures:

It was more than sufficient for the application. I did a lot of data-logging and I never saw my EGTs get anywhere near unreasonable.
That one is now going for sale and I am buying this one for the most recent build of the engine:

My golf is using an Injen intecooler made for an STI.
