What size of rims can u fit n a stock 1999 daewoo lanos hatc
i have a 1999 daewoo hatchback. And im trying to order some rims but im not really sure what size to get. I dont want it to be too big when i get my order.
You can get 17"s on alright but they will kill your acceleration.
You may be able to get bigger on but they might rub.
Look around the forum for more answers.

Depends on what you're after. I had 15's and stepped up to 17's.norbie wrote:You can get 17"s on alright but they will kill your acceleration.

15's were a good step up from stock (better handling and better grip), but the handling with 17's is phenomenal.
You do lose a tiny bit in acceleration and the ride isn't soft like stock, but the handling/grip is worth it for me.
If you lower it too then you'll need to lip the rear arches.
The 43SOM lanos had 18x7.5's! But he had serious guard work done in the rear. The 18's looked WAY oversized on the lanos IMO...

always remeber that bigger rims= lower profile tires =more risk from pot holes.
IMO 15" rims and 195/50/15 is optimum.

I run 17" TSW Freeze on my Lanos Hatch, even though in Africa we also have pot holes the size of small crators ha ha.
I have lowered the car 20mm all round with re-tempered std springs and had major tyre scraping on the rear untl i upgraed the std shocks to Gabriel Gas Riders. I also took off the rear bumper and trimmed off a few offending peices of metal. (Then repainted off course to keep out the rust)
This is the 7th set of rims I have had on the Woo----- fashion consious I am ha ha.
Std 14" with plastic hub caps
16" TSW Blades with 205/45 x 17" Good year F1s -- awesome in the wet
16" Antera's
15" TSW Zenons with 195/50 x 15" Good year Venturas
15" 5 spoke ... some chineese imports
17" 8 spoke TSW Razors with Yokohama Paradas
17" 8 spoke TSW Freeze.
17s do look the best but do tend to tram line a bit, where as the 15s just look a bit lost in the large arches.

cd/mp3 decks
i was thinking of buying a cd/mp3 deck for my daewoo lanos hatch since it has no cd player in it. What kind of stereo brand will fit in my car that i could hook up by myself.

the size
so you guys are saying that a rim that is 17x7 with a tire that is 205/40/17 will fit in my car with no problems?

I fit 17's under my car but i cant have more then 2 people in the back seat due the fact that 1 extra person adds the danger of rubbing and it has happened to me so no more then 2 people in the back and i dont reccomend lowering maybe only if the springs and dampers are stiff otherwise....no, you can at max fit 18's though but ill mention this 17 shoot little rocks and crap under your car and you can hear it ding and if your a freak like myself i get pissed and scared my paint is getting scratched and the rims chipped but so far its only put one scratch where no one can see so its fine, if its snowing where you live i reccomend puting stocks on for the winter so they dont get ruined and faded.

On stock suspension no problems.ghostrecon_718 wrote:so you guys are saying that a rim that is 17x7 with a tire that is 205/40/17 will fit in my car with no problems?
If you go lowered then you had better lip the rear guards. I'd highly recommend stiffer shocks too if you're going 17s.

they shouldn unless ur car is lowered...i have 17" gestalt virouge chrome rims... only once have i ever had my back wheels hit the inner gaurd n that was with 4 peeps in the car. my rims never rub and i find that they dont affect acceleration, or if they do it is only slightly. Handling is way better and the car seems to feel lighter than my stock wheels. But the only thing is is that the ride is alot rougher with less tyre. worth it for the looks though...
