if i understand your question correctly then the WG is installed on the exhaust mani not the turbo itself.

why do you want to get rid of the interal waste gate?????

You could weld it.... but I"d suggest that it be done by a profesional shop that knows how to weld cast iron.... otherwise you might end up getting cracks in the weld within a few months

I guess you could allways secure the actuator so that it keeps it closed no matter the pressure.

You could also keep the internal wastegate but put on an actuator that will only open at very high boost levels (if your going for 15psi.... actuate the internal at 20psi )

This way if your external waste gate fails or there is a quick boost surge the internal will act as a safety gate and open up... keeping your engine from destroying itself under massive boost.

People sometimes forget that many turbos can push out 30+ psi of boost if the wastegate gets buggered up..... which immediatly kills the engine.

Personally.... if it allready has the internal wastegate.... I would keep it.

+1 zillion.

Still works well and less complicated design.
