seems ur serious about finding a way of remapping an ECU thru OBD... or anything possible.
the only software that ive found so far is all in russian language (these will need to be translated):
http://rodd1s.phpnet.us/downloads/ewriter.zip
http://rodd1s.phpnet.us/downloads/flash23.zip
http://rodd1s.phpnet.us/downloads/ct26.zip
and here's an english one, but this can only edit the ECU file and not flash an ECU:
http://rodd1s.phpnet.us/downloads/promedit_06.zip
let me know if any of the downloads are not working.
EDIT: seems i cant link directly to the files, so if they wont download goto: http://rodd1s.phpnet.us/downloads/ and they should be listed there.

any possibility that you could provide some pictures, circuits, diagrams, tutorials... anything... ?modem_over wrote:i flashed mine myself using a TI-83+ calculator. took a little splicing but i got it wired in and it was a sucesss my first time. Advanced my timing and upgraded to a better octane fuel. verry minor... like half a horse improvement
edit: come to think of it, ive got a ti-83 laying around the house. just need to dig it up.

i could probabbly work up a little howto, but so far tho only hexes i have isolated in the dump are the timing and the moor lock/alarm sensor poling frequency... and my method was a little bit .... ghetto. Juts give me a little to write something up and maby getr some pix, You will hafe to have acess to a computer running linux
im glad i got the ball rolling on discussing this topic.
i was wondering if a more complex ecm managing program might give more options
and allow for a grater range of adjustability?
see the reason im looking into it is because im looking to make a street legal NA monster engine with it.
i am aiming for horsepower to be between 200 to 300hp since that is the limit for NA's, granted i would have to raise the rpm range higher. since i am not going to be using injectors bigger than 500cc a reflashed ecm would do, any ways
that shouldn't be to difficult since the caterman coupes use such engines that rev reliably over 10k rpms.

you'll need to do the required physical engine work aswell then to get it to rev higher.
high lift cams, uprated valve springs, light weight pistons, conn. rods etc, and maybe higher compression, port & polish headers etc.
...im sure i'm missing out some things.
or maybe just cryo treatment for the whole engine.
there's alot of work required for high power n/a engines.
but i think for now if we could just get something basic for ECM/ECU flashing as a starting point we can work from there.

ok, thats cool then...
might have to contact the nearest cryo treatment place and see if i can get a quote and might join ya on making a N/A beast.
@modem_over: any luck/progress with providing some technical info about ghetto ECM flashing?

I am not looking to make a N/A beast but i looking at using my ecu to control the sunbird engine, I would love to be able to know how to flash mine but i don't understand how this would help the car, can anybody explain

well, basically the ECU/ECM is what contains all the information used by the engine so it knows when to spark, and how much fuel to inject. so in theory you can tune any car with electronic fuel injection by getting more fuel to the engine and advancing the timing on the spark plugs.
