While doing a bit of transmission digging for the Aveo build that appears to be taking shape, I was looking at crate transmissions from Daewoo.
Seems there is a manual transmission for the Leganza that is NOT the same as the Nubira... in fact, it's about $400 more expensive from Daewoo.
Chris... what is this do you think? Higher rating of tq perhaps? The 2.2L isn't all that different in terms of power, but it seems strange that this is the case...
Stumbled upon an interesting question...

As far as differeneces between the Nubira and Leganza, I can't say as I have any experience with that since both Leganza engines I've dealt with had automatic transmissions.
I do however have a clutch from a Leganza manual tranny and it seems to be the same as the standard clutch.
As far as F20 vs D20..... to my knowlege the Nubira and Leganza came with the D20
However.... in places outside of North America (such as Korea) I belive the standard engine was the 1.6L 16V for the Nubira which means it most likely had the D16
So my question is if your info comes from North American Daewoo models or ones from over seas????
Also keep in mind that it's possible it might have different part numbers and prices and yet they might be the exact same transmission.
A good example is the F40.... you can buy it in a Pontiac G6 or a Saab 9-3 and they are identical transmissions with different part numbers and way different prices.
I could get the F40 from the G6 for about $1600 (technically I did find a guy selling new crate F40's for $800 but $1600 was the regular wholesale price) yet the Saab F40 was $2600 for the same thing.
Yes.... there is a difference because it's Pontiac vs Saab.... but I still think that it's possible that the price of a D20 in a Nubira might be cheaper than a D20 for a Leganza.... and it's possible that they may have given them different part numbers.
When it comes down to it they only have to change one small thing to make it a different part number..... perhaps the linkage is just a tiny bit different... who knows.
The 2.2L really didn't make that much more power than the 2.0L so I can't imagine them requiring a different transmssion.
Who knows..... the only way to tell for sure is to pick up a manual tranny from the Leganza and Nubira and compare them side by side.
I have a couple of Daewoo parts catalogues.... if I get time I will compare the numbers and see if they are different

The catalog is a NA spec list, but considering the price difference in the cars I'd imagine it to be mark-up for the sake of mark-up. it even says on the listing that the clutch is the standard 9" model on the Nubira as well.
On the same page, a new crate transmission from Suzuki for a Reno or Forenza is also cheaper than the Leganza one...
